Back to the Future

RS EDEN is sad to report that Kevin Evenson, our Director of Recovery Services is leaving us. Kevin has been offered an opportunity to oversee the creation of a residential substance abuse treatment program for Nystrom and Associates. While we wish Kevin well in this new and exciting venture, his calm demeanor, creative mind, knowledge of the field, and organizational skills will be missed. In the time that Kevin has been with us, he has left an indelible mark us, and hopefully we on him. He’ll always be part of the “family.”

But as much as we lament the fact that Kevin is moving on, we are excited to name his replacement. Jim Wynne is coming home. Jim worked for us as both a counselor and senior counselor before becoming the Program Supervisor the Hazelden Center for Youth and Families. Leaving Hazelden after seven years, he went on to be the Program Manager for the Minnesota Department of Corrections at the Togo Correctional facility.

At Togo, Jim developed the Challenge Incarceration Program for Women as well as a program for adolescent male offenders. When it became policy for the programs to be licensed by the Department of Human Services as well as the Department of Corrections, he oversaw that effort so he is well versed in policies and procedures in any program licensed under M.S. 245G.

Returning to Hazelden Betty Ford after four years at Togo, he has spent the past six years as the Manager of Addictions Programs at the Plymouth Facility. In that role, he was responsible for 45 chemically dependent adolescents. His duties included managing a multi-disciplinary team, program development, to include content, curriculum and scheduling, adherence to Joint Commission of Hospital Administration regulatory standards, along with city state and community expectations. He also provided budget supervision and stewardship.

Jim knows RS EDEN programs and clients. Transitions are hard, but having someone with Jim’s experience and passion for those we serve will continue to enhance our commitment to the people who desperately need our services. Please join me in welcoming him back to the RS EDEN family.
