Family-Centered Recovery

For mothers in recovery, it is not just about their own recovery, but the recovery of their whole family. Their ability to heal will bring healing and opportunities for their children. Through RS EDEN’s outpatient treatment with lodging, mothers maintain custody of their children, and an array of services are provided to meet the complex needs of the entire family system.

What is the experience like?

RS EDEN providers care for both mother and child, and includes additional family members and caregivers. We welcome pregnant women, as well as women with children for intensive outpatient treatment connected to a safe, stable, and supportive board and lodge.

Many of our mothers are working hard to keep their children in their care or successfully reunify with their children. We partner with PICA Headstart childcare and other childcare providers as well as Minneapolis Public Schools so women can attend programming while their children are receiving vital early childhood care and education.

We support all of our families through more than just substance use treatment.  We provide mental health assessments, therapy services, case management, healthy meals, parent education, and more.

Program FAQs

Here are some answers to a few Frequently Asked Questions about this program

We are here to serve everyone, regardless of income. If you have insurance, our program will bill insurance for your care. If you do not have insurance, we will help get you enrolled with insurance to pay for your care.

Program duration depends on your level of need, for both you and your family. Some women stay with us for as little as a few months, others stay for much longer. We will work with you and your family, Child Protection (if they are involved), and other stakeholders to make sure you are set up for success on your long-term recovery journey.

You should bring your ID, any medications you are prescribed, doctor's orders, copy of insurance (if you have it), any discharge paperwork you may have from a hospital or other setting.

We recommend you bring personal items, including clothing, hygiene products, personal care items, pictures of family or friends, spiritual items, or other items that will bring you joy and comfort.

There will be limited space for personal items, so please be selective before coming to treatment.

Yes. RS EDEN believes family, friends, and other prosocial supports are critical to a successful and enduring recovery.

In our outpatient with lodging program, you will continue to live with and care for your children. Your team will work with you on setting up additional visits with loved ones and incorporating them into your treatment.

RS EDEN's substance use disorder treatment programs have a Medical Director (a physician) and nurses (RN). Our medical staff work to support Medication-Assisted Treatment, medical health conditions, mental health conditions, and your overall continuity of care.
